Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Firdaus mobile application ("App"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Firdaus ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms apply to all users of the App, including users who access the App without creating an account.
About Firdaus
Firdaus is an Islamic lifestyle companion application available on iOS and Android platforms. The App provides the following services:
Location-based prayer time calculations using the Aladhan API with multiple calculation methods.
Digital dhikr counter with preset and custom remembrance options.
Arabic text, translations, and audio recitations for all 114 surahs (Premium).
Compass-based real-time Qibla direction using device sensors.
Hijri and Gregorian calendar with important Islamic dates.
Daily worship habit tracking for prayer, Quran, dhikr, and supplication.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Firdaus. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to terminate your access if we discover that you do not meet these requirements.
The App is available globally. However, we make no representation that the App is appropriate or available in all locations. You are responsible for compliance with local laws.
User Accounts
Firdaus may be used as a guest (without an account) or with a Google account for cross-device synchronization.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@firdaus.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- You may not create accounts using automated means or under false pretenses.
Guest mode data is stored locally on your device only. We are not responsible for data loss if you uninstall the App while using guest mode.
License to Use
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Firdaus App on your personal device(s) for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
This license does not include the right to:
- Sell, resell, or commercially exploit any part of the App
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute the App or its content
- Modify, translate, adapt, or create derivative works
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the App to develop a competing product
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Firdaus.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the App in any manner that:
- Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
- Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempts to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its related systems
- Introduces viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Interferes with or disrupts the integrity or performance of the App
- Attempts to circumvent or disable any security features
- Uses automated scripts to collect information from or interact with the App
- Impersonates any person or entity
Content & Accuracy
Firdaus provides religious and informational content including prayer times, Quranic text, translations, and Islamic calendar information. Regarding this content:
- Prayer Times: Calculated using established astronomical formulas and third-party APIs (Aladhan). Times may vary slightly based on calculation method, location accuracy, and local religious authority guidelines. We recommend verifying with your local mosque for official times.
- Quranic Text: Sourced from the Quran Cloud API using the Uthmani script. While we strive for accuracy, users are encouraged to verify against a trusted physical Mushaf.
- Translations: Provided by third-party sources. Translations are interpretations and may differ across scholars.
- Qibla Direction: Calculated using GPS coordinates and the Great Circle method. Accuracy depends on device sensor quality and GPS precision.
- Islamic Dates: Hijri dates are calculated astronomically and may differ from officially announced dates in your region.
Intellectual Property
The App and its original content (excluding third-party content such as Quranic text and translations), features, functionality, design, logos, and trademarks are owned by Firdaus and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The following are owned or licensed by Firdaus:
- The "Firdaus" name, logo, and brand identity
- App UI design, animations, and visual elements
- Proprietary algorithms for prayer time and Qibla calculation
- Source code and software architecture
Third-party content (Quran text, audio recitations, hadith) is provided under respective open licenses. We acknowledge the intellectual property rights of all third-party content providers.
You may not use our trademarks, logos, or brand assets without our prior written consent.
Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
- Prayer times will be 100% accurate for all locations and methods
- The App will be available at any particular time or location
- Any defects or errors will be corrected
- Third-party services (Aladhan API, Quran Cloud, Firebase) will remain available
We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FIRDAUS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of data or profits
- Missed prayer times due to inaccurate calculations or app failure
- Device damage resulting from App use
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Actions of third-party services integrated into the App
In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for a Premium subscription in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any purchases.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Firdaus at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- Violates these Terms or any applicable law
- Is harmful to other users, third parties, or us
- Creates liability for Firdaus
You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. If you have an account, you may also request account deletion by contacting us at support@firdaus.app.
Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law shall survive termination.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.
Notwithstanding the above, we reserve the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any jurisdiction to protect our intellectual property rights.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Send an in-app notification for significant changes
- Request fresh consent where required by applicable law
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the App.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Previous versions of these Terms are available upon request.
